OK, we would like you to be creative in making your Birthday Hug, but please bear in mind that if you intend to make your video in more interesting locations than your own home you may need to obtain permission from the owner, or relevant authority, before it can be broadcast.

If you are on a beach, or in a park, that is not easily identifiable, then you are probably OK. However, if you using a grand stately home then you need permission from The National Trust, English Heritage, or the owner. The same will apply if you use an identifiable Hotel, Pub, Train, Bus, Museum, Art Gallery or any famous landmark. If you film in the street you may need clearance from the local council and/or the Police.

There are many reasons why property owners may not want their property featured on television, so in order to save any upset later it is always best to get permission, in writing, first. Or better still, use a location that looks interesting but that isn't easily recognised and then you won't have the worry of seeking permission from anybody.

Remember we need your video or DVD at least 5 days before broadcast!
